Double Eyelid (Suture)

The Non-Incisional Double Eyelid Surgery, also known as Suture Upper Blepharoplasty, is generally suitable for individuals with less fatty tissue and minimal signs of skin laxity on the upper eyelids.

By burying the suture using a small incision of 1-2 mm, the minimal incision burial method connects the skin of the eyelids with the levator muscle – the muscle responsible for elevating the upper eyelid.

PROCESS
  • Before Surgery:

Markings will be made on your upper eyelids prior to the procedure.

  • During Surgery:

Sutures are weaved in an interlocking pattern to create lasting double eyelids.

  • After Surgery:

Double eyelids are created. Our team will bring you through the steps and instructions on post-surgical care.

ADVANTAGES
  • Suture method causes less trauma hence there is less bruising compared to the cutting method
  • Requires short recovery time
  • Able to achieve low to medium double eyelid crease for a more natural look
  • Can be combined with medial canthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty or droopy eyelid correction to create bigger looking eyes

Double Eyelid (Incisional)

This Incisional Double Eyelid method utilises an incision along the double eyelid lines, removing droopy or excessive skin, fat, and muscle. Hollowed skin and fat as well as heavy and thick muscles can be reduced to create slim double eyelids.

The muscles are not excessively removed, scars from the incision will not leave a hollow line. A very thin suture is used so that the scar is barely noticeable.

Swelling resulting from an incisional blepharoplasty requires more time to subside than the non-incisional method. Since the muscles are not excessively removed, the scars from the incision will not leave a hollow line.

PROCESS
  • Before Surgery:

Markings will be made on your upper eyelids prior to the procedure.

  • During Surgery:

Double eyelid line is created by incising the excessive skin, orbicular muscle of eyes, and fat according to the eyelid line and eyelid muscle.

  • After Surgery:

Double eyelids are created. All sutures are removed between 5-7 days after the procedure. Our team will bring you through the steps and instructions on post-surgical care.

ADVANTAGES
  • Results are permanent
  • Procedure removes excess skin and fat
  • Able to achieve low, medium or high double eyelid creases
  • Technique addresses limitations of the non-incisional method
  • Can be combined with medial canthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty or droopy eyelid correction to create bigger looking eyes

Epicanthoplasty

The fold at the inner edge of the eyelids is called the Epicanthal Fold or the Mongolian fold. It can cause eyes to look round, distant and narrow. Epicanthoplasty is a procedure used to extend the width of the eyes, making them look bigger and more attractive.

Scars from Epicanthoplasty procedures are rarely noticeable. They are positioned near the eyelashes or inside of the double eyelids. Two to three months after surgery, these scars are almost unnoticeable even without any makeup.

ADVANTAGES

Our centre utilises a variety of bespoke surgical methods depending on the unique circumstances of each individual including skin-redraping, uchida, and hiraga surgery. Therefore, surgical complications arising from un-customised methods are prevented, avoiding a long recovery time. It is important to note that skin-redraping surgery is rarely utilised due to its longer post-surgery recovery time.

EPICANTHOPLASTY SURGICAL METHODS
  • Uchida Method

Minimal incision is done to improve the Epicanthal fold, and hence, reducing the likelihood of scarring.

  • Hiraga Method

The incision line is well hidden and the eye muscles and fibrous film that are responsible for causing the folds are separated.

  • Skin-redraping Method

This method hides the incision line well by separating and suturing the fibrous film and eye muscles that are responsible for causing the Mongolian fold.

  • Restoration of the Mongolian fold

Recreating Epicanthal fold when excessive Epicanthoplasty was done

Lateral Canthoplasty

Lateral Canthoplasty involves the cutting of the outer corner of the eyes, to lengthen the eyes. This is often performed with double eyelid procedure to enhance the result.

ADVANTAGES

There is no need to worry about scars because the mucous membrane of the lateral angle of the eyes are incised. If necessary, the eye slant is firmly fixed to the periost so that the position of eye slant can be adjusted without worrying about recurrence.

SURGERY METHOD

The length of the eyes are extended by making an incision on a lateral angle of the eyes. The incision length is usually about 2-3 mm. After arranging the skin of the incised lateral angle of the eyes, the orbicular muscles of the eyes, and the lateral angle muscle, the lateral angle muscle itself is fixed to the periost if necessary. The arranged lateral angle of the eyes is then carefully sutured. All sutures are removed between five to seven days after the procedure.

  • Before Surgery

Markings will be made on the lateral angle of the eyes prior to the procedure.

  • During Surgery

Skin and mucous membrane of the lateral angle of the eyes are incised. If necessary, the eye slant is firmly fixed to the periost so that the position of eye slant can be adjusted without worrying about recurrence.

  • After Surgery

Patients can expect to see natural, wider looking eyes. Our medical team will bring you through the steps and instructions on post-surgical care as well as your medication needs. All sutures are removed between five to seven days after the procedure

Ptosis – Droopy Eyelid (Suture)

Ptosis is the droopy or falling of the upper eyelid caused by muscle laxity that comes with ageing or by bad habits such as excessive rubbing or tugging genetic and congenital factors . The Ptosis repair surgery helps to create bigger looking eyes by tightening the muscles on the upper eyelids, which allow the eyelids to be further raised when your eyes are open. In the process of fixing droopy eyelids, double eyelids are also created at the same time.

The Ptosis repair surgery utilises an incision along the double eyelid lines. Drooped or excessive skin, fat and muscles are removed. A thread is fixed to the levator, the muscle responsible for lifting the eyelids. The levator is then being tighten and strengthen. The Eyelids can regain part of their ability to lift and the patient’s eyes appear naturally bigger. All suture are removed between five to seven days after the procedure.

This procedure is suitable for you if you have any of the following concerns:

  • Genetically small eyes
  • Sleepy looking eyes
  • Difficulty lifting your upper eyelids
PROCESS
  • Before Surgery:

Markings will be made on your eyelids prior to the procedure. A thread is fixed to the levator – the muscle used to lift the eyelids.

  • During Surgery:

Drooped or excessive skin, fat and muscles are removed. Sutures are used to tighten the levator muscle.

  • After Surgery:

Eyelids can regain part of their ability to lift and the patient’s eyes appear naturally bigger.  All sutures are removed between 5-7 days after the procedure. Our team will bring you through the steps and instructions on post-surgical care as well as your medication needs.

Eye Bag Removal (Scar-less)

The Scarless Eye Bag Removal is targeted for patients with mild bulging on the lower eyelids. A needle probe is inserted into the eye bag. Laser energy is emitted from the probe to melt fat tissue around the under eye area. Thus, eye bag can be removed with no visible scars on the surface of skin.

PROCESS
  • Before Surgery:

Markings will be made on the eye bags prior to the procedure.

  • During Surgery:

Needle-sized probe uses laser energy to melt fat tissue around the under eye area.

  • After Surgery:

Excess fats and water are removed from the under eye, diminishing the bulging eye bag. Fat graft, or filler injection to smooth out or add volume to the lower eyelids.

ADVANTAGES
  • Scarless
  • Effectively treat mild bulging on the lower eyelids.
  • Fine laser probe allows for greater precision on small and delicate areas such as the lower eyelids
  • Technique addresses limitations of the non-incisional method
  • Minimal bruising and swelling, as well as less trauma to the skin
  • Faster recovery as compared to surgical eye bag removal techniques

Eye Bag Removal (Incisional)

With aging, the skin, fat and muscle sag and accumulate on the confined area around your eyes. Normal fat that helps support the eyes can then move into the lower eyelids, causing the lids to appear puffy. Fluid accumulates in the space below your eyes, and may add to the swelling. This surgery will effectively remove mild to moderate eye bags without leaving any prominent scars to the face.

This surgery requires an incision under the lower lash line as there is more severe protrusion and it would require removal of excess skin. Excessive fats and skin are removed to eliminate the presence of the eye bags. The incision under the lower lash line is then stitches up, leaving no visible scars on the face.

PROCESS
  • Before Surgery:

Markings will be made on the eye bags prior to the procedure.

  • During Surgery:

Fat and excess skin are removed, tightening the under eye.

  • After Surgery:

Bulging under the eye is removed and the under eye is smoothed out. All sutures are removed between 5-7 days after the procedure.

ADVANTAGES
  • Effectively treat mild to moderate bulge on the lower eyelids
  • Removed excess skin for a smoother under eye contour
  • Can be combined with facial fat-grafting for optimal results.

Eye Bag Repositioning

With aging, normal fat that helps support the eyes can move into the lower eyelids, causing the lids to appear puffy. Fluid accumulates in the space below your eyes, and may also add to the swelling. This surgery partially removes or rearranges the protruding portion of the lower eyelids.

Fats are re-positioned to fill up the sunken area under the eyes.Through this procedure, dark circles around the eye are corrected and any drooping skin are fixed in place.

PROCESS
  • Before Surgery:

Markings will be made on your lower eyelids prior to the procedure.

  • During Surgery:

Fats and excess skin is removed, diminishing the bulging under the eye. Fats are repositioned and secured for a smooth under eye contour.

  • After Surgery:

Bulging under the eye is removed and the under eye is smoothed out. Our team will bring you through the instructions on post-surgical care.

ADVANTAGES
  • Reduce wrinkles and fine lines and improve the appearance of dark circles.
  • Under eye area feels firmer and look tauter
  • Better and longer lasting results
  • Prevents unwanted hollowness on the lower eyelids
  • Can be combined with facial fat grafting

Brow Lift

As one ages, wrinkles appears on the forehead, on the bridge of the nose and crow’s feet. At the same time, the person may feel his/her eyelids getting heavy. This is because the skin and muscles of upper facial parts (the forehead and upper eyelids) are stretched and drooped. As the skin on the forehead droops, the eyebrows located at the base of the forehead also sag, resulting in wrinkles (crow’s feet, upper eyelids and the bridge of the nose).

Muscles of the forehead tend to be used to lift drooped eyebrows when the eyes are open, resulting stretched forehead skin bunches together and the wrinkles of the forehead become evident. In addition, since the eyebrows fall in a drooped way during sleep, the skin below the eyebrows (the bridge of the nose, crow’s feet, and inside / mid-section of the eyelids) also bunch up, creating and deepening wrinkles in those areas.

NON-INVASIVE PROCEDURE
  • Botox is helpful for anti-ageing associated with the upper facial parts. It weakens the muscle groups around the eyes and middle of the forehead responsible for causing sagging eyebrows and associated wrinkles.
  • HIFU (Ulthera) or RF (Thermage) is recommended for cases where the forehead skin is thin, losing elasticity and the eyebrows are drooping. We recommend applying specialized treatment program for elasticity to the dermis, subcutaneous tissue and the skin itself.
ENDOSCOPIC EYEBROW LIFTING WITH MINIMAL INCISION

This may be applied to the forehead, eyebrows or temporal region with an endoscope and 5 minimal incisions at the back of the hairline. It is easily recommended for men with thinning hair or short hair because it hardly leaves any incision scars.

After loosening up a ligament, its adhesive section holding the drooped forehead would be held with an endoscope. Our oculoplasty specialist will then rearrange and adjust muscles of the upper facial section, the area which creates the wrinkles in the middle of the forehead, the bridge of the nose, and the eye rims. The results will remain stable for a long time.
