Face Lift

NON-INVASIVE OR SURGICAL FACELIFT

As a part of the natural ageing process, facial tissue begins to lose its elasticity and can become loose or wrinkly. The soft tissue, the fascia (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) supporting the soft tissue and connected ligaments lose their elasticity and begin to stretch.

This drooping of the tissue and skin surrounding the cheeks tend to create a hollow look in front of the cheekbones, and can contribute to the appearance of wrinkles, deepened nasolabial lines, or the appearance of a double chin.

These signs usually start developing in one’s 30s and 40s. Depending on your skin condition and the extent of the ageing effect on your appearance, a facelift may be required if you wish to achieve smoother looking skin and a more youthful look.

Our team can help you explore the various surgical, minimally-invasive and non-surgical facelift procedures (including Thermage skin tightening treatment) offered at our centre, and tailor a treatment plan to suit your unique concerns and expectations for natural and lasting results.

NON-SURGICAL FACE-LIFT PROCEDURE

Radio Frequency & Focused Ultrasound: Ultherapy & Thermage

Ulthera is a non-invasive focused ultrasound treatment to rejuvenate your skin from within. This treatment delivers waves of energy into the skin’s deeper layers, targeting subcutaneous tissues, as well as the dermis and epidermis, restructuring the skin and encouraging the reproduction of elastin fibres and collagen to create a lifting effect.

Thermage is a non-invasive radio frequency (RF) therapy that can smooth, tighten and contour skin for an overall younger-looking appearance. This treatment deliver waves of energy into the skin’s foundation layer, causing collagen to contract and encourages new collagen to start growing. This helps to create smoother skin just after one treatment with results that can continue to improve.

Liquid Face Lift: Botulinum Toxin & Filler

Liquid Face Lift plumps up fine lines and wrinkles, restores contours and helps to define facial features in one sitting. This skin rejuvenating, non-surgical treatment is perfect for those with mild to moderate skin laxity who can’t afford long downtime after a procedure. Our specialists achieve optimal rejuvenating results using a mix of botulinum toxin and fillers from renowned brands such as Restylane, Botox, and Juvederm.

Fillers are a crucial part of the process, used to smooth fine lines and wrinkles while restoring volume to recreate youthful facial contours and improve definition of facial features. They can address lines and wrinkles in a variety of places, including areas between the brows, on the forehead, below the corners of the mouth and chin and along the nasolabial folds.

Additional fillers may be used to add contour or volume under the eyes, along the temples, along the nose, above the cheeks, and along the lips.he use of botulinum toxin can prevent the development of dynamic wrinkles, and allows our specialists to target selected muscle groups, achieving specific lifting or slimming results.

Botox is commonly used to address forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, nasolabial lines, and neck lines. It can also be used on areas around the jaw for slimming, or on the brows and lip corners for lifting.

Results from a liquid facelift can help to rejuvenate your skin and last for 6 months to a year. It can be prolonged with treatment intervals done 1 to 4 months apart.

INVASIVE SURGICAL FACE-LIFT PROCEDURE

Mini Facelift or MACS Lift

This procedure targets mid-facial skin laxity issues while leaving minimal scarring. If you’ve begun to exhibit droopy jowls, or had done lifting procedures previously, or need rapid healing after the procedure, you may be a suitable candidate for this surgery.

Unlike in a traditional facelift, a mini facelift utilises short-scar endoscopic facelift techniques, vertically repositioning the underlying muscles and fat tissue in the mid-face. Our mini facelift procedures can add a youthful boost to the cheeks and brows, improving the contouring around the mid-face and eliminating hollowness resulting from tissue migration. Depending on your circumstances, you may require additional fat grafting procedures to plump up areas that suffer from volume loss for a well rejuvenated look.

Generally, swelling and bruising will subside after 10 to 14 days. Patients are advised that they can return to their daily activities after 3 weeks.

Traditional Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

A traditional facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, is a comprehensive surgical procedure capable of addressing multiple ageing concerns. Traditional facelift rejuvenates all areas between the forehead and neck, and can bring about lasting results that make individuals look at least 5-10 years younger. Our specialists will recommend a full facelift for individuals with severe skin laxity problems, deep facial creases, excess facial skin, uneven subcutaneous tissue distribution, or if previous results from any of the surgical facelift techniques mentioned yield minimal results.

Incision will be made along the hair line that follows the natural curvature of the ear. These incisions are hidden under and behind the ear, down to the nape of the neck. The advantage of this procedure is that it not only removes excess skin, but also allows the surgeon to reposition fat pads and muscle tissues. It also lifts cheek and brow positions, restoring youthful facial contours.

Patients will need to expect 2 weeks downtime post-surgery. It can take a few months for bruising and swelling to subside and up to 6 months to a year for scarring to fade. Surgeons generally recommend patients to avoid vigorous activity for a few weeks after surgery.

Neck Lift (Submental Lipectomy)

Apart from skin tightening, a neck lift can also remove localized fat deposits under the chin, correct muscle laxity and remove excess skin where necessary. It is ideal for individuals seeking to rejuvenate the skin around the neck and chin to achieve youthful jaw and neck lines. This procedure is often performed in conjunction with a facelift for better results.

Sutures and staples from surgery are generally removed within 7 to 14 days. Patients will need to expect at least 2 weeks downtime and it will take a few months for swelling and bruising to subside. Surgeons generally recommend that patients avoid vigorous activity for a few weeks after surgery.

Facelift Procedures in conjunction with Lasers or Injectables

Facelifts are designed to enhance skin tightening and prevent sagging and age-related changes, whereas lasers and injectables improve the volume, texture, and quality of the patient’s skin. When the latter two are used to complement a facelift, the combined effect enhances skin rejuvenation, providing an even better result. For this reason, many plastic surgeons utilise a combination of treatments when formulating a facial rejuvenation plan for a better surgical outcome.
